hello!
I downloaded the last version (1.1) and replaced all the ness-engine folder, and now I suddenly get "LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'ness_engine_d.lib'"

Hi, I'm getting the same error. I have a fresh install of Visual Studio 2013 Express and Ness Engine 2013. I am at step 5 of the initial setup. I copied all the files from the vs2013 folder into the folder directly above it (winx86) but no luck. All compiles up to this point worked fine. I also tried repeating the tutorial with x64 but no luck.
Any Ideas??
Thanks

I assume you added '$(ProjectDir)\ness-engine\lib\win_x86\' to your Library Directories property, but is ness-engine dir located inside your project dir? how does your directories structure looks? thanks!

Hi, Thanks for asking.
This is how my directory looks and my library directories property. Any ideas?
C:\Users\Ray\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\Projects\testapp1\ness-engine
$(ProjectDir)\ness-engine\lib\win_x86\

well just to be sure I opened a new visual studio 2013 project and followed the tutorial, and it worked. so let's validate things until we get the problem 1. does your project dir looks like this: see how 'ness-engine' directory and the 'vcxproj' file are in the same directory. is this the case? 2. is there a chance you put some properties for 'Debug' for forgot to put them for 'Release' or vice versa? 3. did you try to rebuild from clean? 4. how did you open the project? as console application? I tried both empty console application and console application with precompiled headers, both worked. 5. just to be sure - could you copy-paste your exact error message here? thanks! hope we'll succeed to solve this

Hi, I tried a fresh install to make sure I followed all the steps properly. I believe I had the ness folder one too high, I put it in the same folder as the vcxproj and I got past the part I was having problems with. I made it to the end and compiled! I think I'm in good shape now. I will continue with the tutorials and let you know if I have any more problems. Thanks again. Ray
